Fan Blade Replacement?

Our trucks did not get a plastic fan until the third gen Rams in 2003. 7 lbs is not that heavy for a fan, especially considering how much air it moves when the fan clutch is engaged. I don't believe that you can put a third gen fan in our 2nd gens either because of the fan diameter and the shrouds are different.
Did yours get damaged?
