so last week i got a letter in the mail saying i got reported for my truck smoking too much i got it tested today and i passed but my numbers were double what they should be. my question is (and this probably makes me sound stupid) would a catalitic converter cut my smoke down?

 

No. You need more air or less fuel. Do you have any mods done to your truck?

 

All I have is a 4 inch magnaflow exhaust and a edge chip

 

Can't you turn the edge down?

 

Ya but if I do then I loose power I want the power but I don't want the risk of a big fine

 

Have you changed your air filter recently? A dirty air filter will make a truck smoke a lot more.

 

Turn the edge down for testing, then turn it back up.

 

Ya I bought it in July and a month after I bought it I went through and change the air filter and a few other things

 

That's what I did when I took it in I guess I'll just have to not race off on a green light anymore

 

where the heck do you live that people turn each other in for visible smoke?
