Cool engine temp

Please i need help, my truck 3500 1999 , diesel everytime we are in a traffic jam the temperature goes up , i did change the termostate but the only I did fine was for 190 if any one have a link were I can get a lower one I will apriciate.

Have you cleaned your radiator? The puke bottle on the front of the engine can really gunk up a radiator and lower its efficiency. Most likely the problem would show up first when sitting in traffic due to decreased airflow.

Yes, try cleaning out the rad, here are my after and before pics. To properly clean it out, you have to pull the rad, then move the puke bottle...

Engine temp

What block # do you have, is it the dreaded 53? My engine time goes up when the coolant gets low. So then just have to add more coolant. A green leaker.

Love my 180* from Cummins. Runs much cooler in summer and solved my high temp problems at racetrack and in the mountains.
Cummins PN #3967195

I would also make sure radiator is clean, but this 180* T-stst makes a big difference!
