Engine stumbles

For the last 2 days at the exact same spot after making a left hand turn engine up to temp, hard on gas then off quick the engine seems to defuel and stumble for about 15 seconds while coasting and idling and then it's back to normal? This is on my way to work and it's never happened before yesterday and today. On the way home today I tried to duplicate symptoms by hard gas but no turn and it might do it but not as severe. The engine really has a rattle like it's missing or stumbling trying to say running.

Ideas?

Fuel pressure is good, fuel filter just replaced have bought diesel from the same station every fill up. Normal power but it comes and goes, maybe today I can chirp the tires from a stop, tomorrow I can't, the next day I can???

HELP!

Just checked and no codes.

Update. It's getting worse and easier to duplicate. The noise has progressed to a metal tick rattle but only while costing at low RPM, if you give it some gas the noise goes away, if you are constant with the fuel no noise, only while slowing for lights or stop signs but not every time. I can not duplicate the noise while stopped. It sounds like the noise is coming from the drivers side of the engine but can't really tell. It really sounds like something is coming loose but I've checked everything possible that's bolted to the engine. Can a VP make weird sounds if dying?

Anyone have any input.

Thanks

What kind of fuel pressure do you have? Have you scanned it for codes - with an OBDII scanner? Or at least done the key on/off trick?

White smoke? Hard starts when warm? Notice anything else strange?? Hate to say it but kinda sounds like the IP....but dont panic yet, it could be something else.
