Thanks for the info,I`ll enquire at cummins to see if they do a block heater over here.To be honest I don`t think its essential for easy starting,it would just be nice to have the engine already on its way to being warmed up.
Going of topic I notice you have a 2002.5 ram, my ram has a build date of May 2002 last 8 vin digits M292884-0. Do you know when dodge stopped building the 2nd diesel rams.

The .5 just means the front axle doesn't have the vaccum disconnect, so the front driveshaft is always turning, on a 4x4 that is.
I'm not sure when the last 2002's were built though.

Recommended for below 40*F...or about 5*C. Unless very cold, an hour or two before starting is enough. I use a timer and three hrs. Even if not needed to get her started...you'll love the way she sounds when warmed up first! Has to be beneficial, IMO.
