I haven't work on that yr. but so far I've seen the heaters on the drivers side under the exhaust manifold, follow a wire back out from there and it should end up behind the rt. headlight [ I think your looking for the plug ] the last person to see it probubly put it away to not flap in the wind , it may be hanging a little below the bumper.

Block heater on the 02 is located below and just forward of the oil filter canister. The plug is secured alongside of the passenger headlight.

Yup....Just to clear up any confusion....John meant to say PASSENGERS side...under exhaust manifold, for where the heater element enters the engine block.
Block heater was not an option....all 02's have them!

Very Educational - I did not think it was still a "Bonnet", if on a truck??

Is the tailgate still a "Boot"? And is a Pickup Truck a Ute (like in Australia), or something else?

Nice clean looking truck.... Are their Dodge Dealers there?

Happy Holidays!

Hello RJ
In the UK a bonnet is a bonnet no matter what size of vehicle,a pickup is a pickup and tailgate stays the same.My friend runs a holden pickup, thats the only time I`ve ever heard the word ute mentioned.
There are quite a few independant importers in the UK bringing in american pickups and cars.Myself I bought my ram over the internet from Hoyte dodge in Sherman Texas, which I should imagine is not to far from your neck of the woods. The only problem I can see in the future regards maintaining my truck will be if I need a computer reflash.I will be changing the rear end gears and as far as I can make out will not be able to correct the speedo.Over the net so far I`ve bought a big line kit, pusher pump and ring gear and pinion, but the cost because of shipping and UK sales tax (17.5%)works out roughly about 70% more than US prices
All the best over the Xmas break

Hi swmnkdinthervr
Our caravan(trailer) is an Eriba troll which is the biggest of a 3 model range.French built it has 3 berths a very small washroom a 3 burner hob and most important a fridge (keeps the beer cold). It also has gas fired blown warm air heating. There not very common in England but are popular in mainland Europe,I`ve also on the web seen one in the US.

All the best

Yam

We seemed to have lost both the original theam of the post and the guy posting , the other day at a napa parking lot a guy with an 04 if I remember asked if I knew where the heater was , he just bought used, I went looking in all the usell places and found no cord but it looked like there was a heater in the block with a black plasic cap on it , it seems that the eng. comes from Commins with the heater but the cheapos at dodge call the cord an option .

That is correct for that model year. They put the heater element in there, but then make you pay for the cord so you can use it. This fella though has an '02, and the block heater with cord then came as standard equipment.

Forgot to add in my last post that I had found the heater plug next to the passenger headlight.Do you leave it plugged in overnight or just for an hour before breakfast.I`m assuming you use the garage electrics, but what voltage are you running in the US over here its 240 volts don`t want to zap the heater block.

240 wouldn't be a good thing to run through the block heater.
It is 120V AC, 60 hz (I believe England runs a different cycle or Hertz, in addition to the high volts)

I'd bet you can get a replacement heater that runs on Euro power.
With all the Diesels running around over there, many of them 5.9 Cummins, there has to be a direct screw in replacement.
