Engine #...?

Hey all, trying to help out my neighbor w/his 99 24-valve Cummins.
Where on the engine can I find the Engine numbers?
Kind of like a vin #

You can find the CPL# on the tag that's on the timing cover- just in front of the VP44 (left side of the engine)

It on a plate on the very front of the engine (drivers side)

Youll actually have to go out to the truck, lift the hood and look....
