Emissions?
I got a notice from the state saying my little stickers on my plates are expiring, so now I have to go get an emissions test. I was wondering if there is anything I should do to help me pass? Besides turning my box off. My D is also striaght piped, so should I put the muffler back on? I thought that with diesels that emissions only had to be done like every 2-3 years. I bought my truck this time last year, the dealer did the emissions for me. So if it were true with 2-3 years, I shouldn't need it till another year or 2. Any help would be great. Thanks
Just turn your box off. With no injectors, you'll pass for sure. Just make sure then engine is good and warm (NOT IDLING). You also have the small, fast-spooling turbo which lowers emissions even further.
CO diesel emissions are pretty easy to pass. If you have EDMs, you can even run a showerhead injector and still pass, as the opacity is low even with a lot of smoke.
No sweat.

I support the "take it out & run it hard" theory...just before having it inspected, if truck not used too often. Can blow out any carbon build up and may help. Also I would not use additives in the tank while being inspected. Sometimes they confuse the tailpipe sensors ( if they use them in your state) by reading high on Hydrocarbons.
