Check for boost or preturbo exhaust leaks, put on 4" exhaust. Especially look at the exhaust manifold for cracks/warping. Preturbo leaks prevent the turbo from spooling adequately which leads to high egt's

If your chip does "boost fooling" get a "boost elbow" to turn up your turbo or a J-hook if you have a hy35 (can't remember if dullies ever came with them). Probably won't matter most the time since you probably wouldn't go over 20psi except when accelerating hard, but if you're seeing high egt's at full boost, this will help a LOT with that.

Since you're worried about 1000* I'm assuming your probe is post turbo. Preturbo you don't have to even be concerned until you're consistently over 1150*
