1998.5 24v. How can you tell if the ECM is bad? Is there a test you can do?

What are the symptoms?

Rarely does an ECM go bad.

The WTS light works. It seems to cut off when it gets warm. Has codes p1693 and p1689.

Bad fuel system relay!!!

I found the problem. I had a bad fuel system relay. I switched it out and the truck doesn't cut off anymore!!

Where is this relay you replaced located? I am having similiar problems 2 months after vp 44 replacement
