Deep freeze!

Out here in western Canada, we are in the middle of a deep freeze! Temp. this am. was -43C. Drove my 06 3500 CTD to work, and it was a experience! The windshield cracked, the clutch and brake pedals were rock hard, and it took forever to warm up! Now my service engine light is on, any ideas as to what it could be? Thanks!!

Whoops, posted in the wrong section!! Sorry!! Moderators feel free to move it!! Thanks!!!

The extreme cold we get is not "kind" to our trucks, part way through the first winter I switched everything to synthetic oil including the axles. I take my winter front OFF for June, July and August and even the second week of August we've had snow. The winter front is one of the vinyl kind that can be opened if it gets a little warm and I find it invaluable. I try to buy my fuel at stations that the fire trucks use, not only do they have good turn over but if its good enough for them its OK for me. In the really cold snaps I add a little fuel additive for extra insurance.

Took the truck to the dealer, and they told me it was a temp. sensor. There is one on the block to measure its temp., and another one to measure ambient air temp. If there is a huge difference between them, then the computer ***** the bed, and figures something is wrong, and puts out a code, thus your CEL comes on!
