Question A decrease in fuel mileage????

It is a 2002 2500 4X4 with a 5-speed. It has a Bully Dog Torque Dog chip, cold air intake, boost gauge and lift pump pressure gauge. Mileage is down about 3 MPG?? Truck is pumping out black smoke when accelerating. It takes more boost to accelerate in traffic. I also can almost zero out the fuel pressure gauge when accelerating. Fuel filter has less than 2000 miles on it. Did I get a bad tank of fuel that plugged the filter??? Any ideas what is going on here??

Thanks for your help. I did the on, off, on,off, on thing and these were the codes that came up: PCU 1693, Ecu 0236. Now what do I do?

codes

I would have done a search but the site will not let me. How do I reset the codes? I see nothing that looks like a boost leak and my boost gauge goes right up as always. Maybe I should not have got so upset with this guy and should not have smoked him. I am new here but not new to diesel trucks. I just want to get this truck back to normal. All help is appreciated.

accoding to the manual that came with my smarty, the codes mean this:

0236 ---> map sensor too high tooo long
1693 ---> dtc cleared in companion jtec module

now, you'll have to find somebody to explain what that means

The 0236 code is probably coming from the bullydog.

I would worry about the lift pump with that kind of fuel pressure.

I was getting 0237(Map Sensor too low) so I took off my programmer and was still getting it. I cleaned the IAT sensor and Map sensor but it still kept coming back so I just replaced the Map and haven't had any troubles since. Take your bullydog off and see what happens.
