Normal things:
How did it run before shutting off?
How much fuel do you have?
Is it stock?
Do you have access to tools to break fuel lines loose at an injector or two?

Put fuel in it...the tank senders are notorious for giving false readings....

Mike:

Having owned a 2002 and dealing with ALOT of problems on mine let me give you suggestions:

#1.) If you don't have gauges, get one from a friend or auto parts store and CHECK YOUR FUEL PRESSURE FIRST! There is a port on the side of the VP-44 pump to connect a fuel pressure gauge to.

#2.) Run an INTERNAL Check of your ECM and PCM. To do that turn the key OFF then ON two times, but don't try to start the truck. Wait a second or so and watch your dash and be prepared to write down some code numbers.

#3.) Depending on the codes you get, you could have a bad pusher fuel pump or the VP-44 could be bad.

That code does not make sence! Good Luck. I'm sure there is a fuse or relay for the fuel pump, but not sure which it is.

Can you hear the intank pump running when you first turn the key on? It will run for like 15 seconds then shut off automatically.

If you haven't done this yet, do so first and make sure you can get fuel at the drain valve by bumping the key, ( not cranking, just a starter bump ) This should run the lift pump for 25 seconds.

I can think of very few things that would prevent it from running without setting a code.

And they are NOTORIOUS for fuel senders going out of calibration. Just dump in 4 or 5 gallons and try it. You would probably have to bump the starter 4 or 5 times, waiting on the 25 seconds between to fill the canister.

Also, it sounds like you are the original owner? Has there been any lift pump replacement done? Hopefully it has not been converted to the in tank pump setup.

Fuse 3 ( 20Amp ) in the PDC box under the hood is B+ power for the ECM, but I would bet all kinds of money that you would have codes coming all over the place if that were blown.
