Dana 80 Spline Count

How do I tell if my Dana 80 is a 35 or 37 spline count? Is there any easy way to tell without taking it apart and counting it? If you have to take it apart whats the easiest way to do that? I am looking at aftermarket lockers and it says that the dana 80 could be either. Any help is appreciated!

If your truck is factory you have 35 spline axles. Sam

Ok, so every 2500 ho 6-speed with the dana 80 will have 35 splines? I need to make sure because all the online places say it could either be 35 or 37?
Thanks

I believe only the Fords came with 37 spline setups. My truck is only 35 spline axles.

Great, Thanks guys, I was unsure because an online site I was looking on listed a 35 or 37 spline for the arb locker in the dodge section. I believe it also listed both a 35 or 37 for a ford.

What kind of Locker are you looking at? I have a stock open diff with 3.55 gears and my options for a good limited slip seem pretty marginal at best. I think I am going to get the Powertrax No Slip as the reviews seem pretty good and less issues then the Lock Right for on-road applications.

Powertrax No-Slip 92-0480-3500
