Cruise control flash?

I can't find anything about this via the site search or on the web, but wasn't there some mention of a flash concerning the cruise control a couple of weeks back? I'm asking because I was on a road trip to New York last week, and on the way back my truck suddenly went to an idle and illuminated the MIL when I turned off the cruise control by hitting the brake. It idled just great, gauges all showed normal, but it wouldn't respond to the accelerator pedal. Restarting several times cleared the MIL and the truck ran fine until the next day, when it happened again when I used the button on the steering wheel to turn off the cruise. I pulled the codes: P0121, P0500, and P1693. It only seems to happen if I use the cruise control for long periods of time, maybe a couple of hours. OBDII.COM says the codes are:

P0121: Throttle position sensor signal does not correlate to manifold pressure sensor signal
P0500: No vehicle speed sensor signal detected during road load conditions
P1693: Fault generated in the companion engine control module

Truck is unmodified as far as drivetrain goes, has about 12,000 miles on it. Maybe I just have one or more flaky sensors, but it seems somehow related to the cruise control. Thanks for any insight or links so I can see if it seems to bear on this problem.

Re:Cruise control flash?

Don't know for sure if this is it, but my APPS (Accellerator Pedal Position Sensor) failed well before 12,000 miles.

There is a recall for the new ones (6spd) about the cruise control accelerating out of its own.

I doubt that this is something concerning you. AlpineRam:

Thanks for confirming that there was a cruise control flash.

I was starting to think I'd gone completely nuts and imagined the whole thing.
