Cruise and 4x4 not working
Cruise and 4x4 not working
Alright so I haven't got a chance to look at the truck, but figured before I waist my time looking elsewhere I would post on here to get a general direction to look. The other day while going down the road I went to put the truck on cruise, hit the button and the light came on that says "cruise" but it won't set. This has always worked on the truck, and then the next day went to pull out of a muddy parking lot and threw it in 4-wheel and the shifter felt like it engaged, but the light on the dash never came on and it never engaged, I tried low and still nothing. I wasn't sure if these were related just seemed odd that they both worked fine now all of the sudden nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

On a '99, look at the lines on the firewall behind the turbo. The one that goes through the firewall to the recirc door can come loose and touch the exhaust housing on the turbo and melt in two pieces. Any opening in the vacuum system will cause all vacuum operated devices to fail (cruise, front axle engagement, recirc door, defrost/panel/floor vent door).
