CPS Location?

Thanks to all the useful threads on this board, I've come to the conclusion that my crank position sensor is bad in my truck. The only thing that I cannot seem to find is where exactley it is located. Ive read both at the front of the motor and behind the starter. Can someone narrow it down for me? Thanks in advance.

The crank sensor is behind the starter and the cam sensor is at the front of the engine, behind and underneath the VP44 pump. You probably need to replace the crank sensor since it is the one that normally gives problems.

Be sure you look down the hole with a mirror at the 'tone ring' . If the old CPS is gouged up on the end you may have a loose tone ring. Read...rather larger problem.
