It's your breather bottle (aka puke bottle) I think it acts like a PCV.
Should have a "J" shaped tube attached?
Remove the bottle and clean it out, or look up the relocation instructions.

Unless your talking about somewhere else?
Is it like a coating all over your Power Steering pump?

I think storx is talking about the puke bottle...

If so check out my pic gallery for a fix to this problem... Custom vent pipe.

If not... Then you must be talking about the vacuum pump seals... Never had to do one but I know there are several that can help you out...

It is supposed to be emptied at every oil change.

If you haven't been taking it to the Dealership for oil changes, it probably has never been emptied.

Heck, even some Dealerships don't know they are supposed to empty it.

That's why some of us relocate the puke bottle...

If you do any 4x4 you will loose a lot of oil out the puke bottle... That is why I went over the back of the engine.

There is more pic in the gallery of this BOMB...

You might want to think about relocating it. If you look close you will probably see oil coating your fan and the back of the radiator as well.

I have read all kinds of stuff about this puke bottle but I have yet to see it on my truck. Did some trucks not get built without it or has mine been modifyed by dodge? It has a hose pointing backwards down by the frame as the vent (no bottle) and it looks like it vents from the back of the engine no the front.

Dodge does have a TSB that relocates it.

If the truck goes offroad and down steep hills, the oil can come out, damaging the engine.
The TSB relocates it to the rear of th engine.

Either that TSB has been done, or maybe the previous owner moved it?
(assuming you aren't the original owner)

Did anyone secure the pipe anywhere or just lay it over the engine. Does the main piece along the valve cover need to slope toward the back of the truck or will the oil make it through on its own?? Thanks

Mine just lays on top of the manifold. Trust me the oil makes to the other end just fine... If your using rubber hose beware that the rubber will break down and kink shut.

It breathes just a hint of oil... It might drip once in awhile.
