Does anybody know if the new universal 5/150 extended life coolant (green color) is compatable with the cummins motor.

i've gotta change my coolant 'fore winter as well. talked to a mech at a very respected local diesel shop. asked him if i could use regular ol'prestone. he said yes, and the extended life works just as well. thats what i'm gonna use.

I used Shell Rotella ELC... good for 600K w/ a 300K booster... it's red.. about $5/gallon or something like that... won't be flushing it for a while...

I have a quick question....After you drain the coolant should you run distilled water the system to get all the coolant out...Need to change mine it is the stock stuff and I have over 100k on the stuff...

 

Make sure you get the heavy duty diesel rated Prestone...
