Codes

Where do you check for codes and how do you read them. I know that they are shown at the odometer but how do you get them to show up?

Re:Codes

bkay - ignition key on, off; on, off; on, off; ON (basically 3 times) then look at your odometer the codes will appear (if any) the PDONE will appear meaning done. Any codes prefixed by a P are powertrain codes. There is another prefix but I can't remember it.

Hope this helps

Re:Codes

If you could try to write the codes down and I could get them. Cause when I go to reprogram a chip it will bring up all the codes for it. and all the codes for the computer.

Re:Codes

I don't believe the trick works on the 98 and 99 Dodge Cummins, can't remember if it works on 2000's or not. You could try it tho.

Key on, Key off, Key on, Key off, Key on........leaving it on and observing the odometer.

Re:Codes

Little bit east of Bryan/College Station. Will the diag. comp tell if the sensors are out of whack, ie. MAP, CPS, AIT. Also would my EZ need to be diconnected to do a check?

Re:Codes

Don't know about the EZ but AutoZone does scan for free. My friend took his Stang there to have his Check Engine Light checked and the codes cleared (new cam kind of set it off ).
