Help with codes 1693 & 0216; Not completely sure the pump is going out???

I know the 0216 means my pumps probably about to go and that the 1693 is a companion code but I was wondering if it is a companion code to the 0216 or if it means there are some other codes that are not showing that will require a code reader to be connected? I have the symptoms i've heard of for a failing pump but earlier today took reset my codes, took my truck for a drive and let the truck coast allowing the rpm's to get low, around 1000 - 1200 and eased back into the accelerator. This is the only time my truck will ever act up. After reseting the codes the truck never acted up after numerous attempts to see if it would. I know this might have just been cooincidence. However when I returned from the drive i checked it for any codes and the 1693 came up first and then the 0216.

I just had my truck in to a dodge dealership for a short in a high beam and a sencer in my rearend. They also told me my injectors needed to be cleaned badly and with 126,000 I told them to go ahead. I'm figurin that if they checked my injectors then they checked for other stuff and would have had to of seen that the pump was goin bad or could I be wrong. I figured they had to of plugged it in and ran a diagnosis to find all the probs.

any input would be greatly appreciated. In case it doen't show up i'm runnin a 02 3500 5 speed

More than likely the 1693 is in the PCM saying the 0216 is in the ECM.

Could be other codes that the key on/off can't see, won't know till you get it scanned.

No, the Dealership most likely didn't even hook up a scan tool when they were doing the injectors,
even if they did, the code may or may not have been there.
They just made an educated guess that with 126K you're injectors might be dirty.

Could be something simple related to them working on the injectors.

thanks phox

I figured they may have hooked it up to the scan tool because they also had to fix the censer in the rearend, due to the abs light being on, replacing the hi/low beam switch in the steering column, and rewiring a headlight with a short in it.

I'm takin it to a diesel shop in willis, tx called Relentless Diesel. I have spoken to them about the prob and am going to have them look at my truck.

thanks again
