Code P1757 who's replaced sensor and solenoid?
Well this past Saturday my crappy Chrysler transmission decided to go into limp mode. I pulled the codes and got the P1757 code. I then talked to a friend who sadly is employed as a technician for a local dodge dealership, and was told that its about a 99% chance that (in very simple english) I need a sensor and solenoid that senses when to shift out of first gear and beyond. Luckily for me it will be done in the driveway for parts cost and a case of beer...
I'm hoping to possibly be able to wrangle Chrysler into paying a portion because i would rather see them pay some to fix it rather than me even at cost and since it only has 49,000mile has never towed and it rarely even sees anything in the bed. And that I just was unlucky enough to purchase the truck at a period of time that they weren't offering the 7/70 warranty. But I know that I'll just get laughed at for even trying, but you never know.
What I was wondering after this whole long story was how many people have had this part(s) go on their trucks. Sorry for the long babbling.... I just had to vent over something this dumb going south in the tranny.

It's a common problem. The design of the solenoid is not the greatest. The solenoid has a little piston in it and it gets stuck sometimes from the material in the tranny fluid (grit). This causes all sorts of problems, from erratic shifting to limp mode. Mine's done it a couple times. Take the one that's in the tranny and disassemble it and clean it really well until the piston moves freely. Then keep this one as a spare.
