Code 1693 another vp victum i think
Our 02 2500 died last week and the shop said lp on puts out about 12gph. He wants to put an intank in it 1,500. I said no ill take care of it I put in a FASS hpfp and now getting 20 psi when key is on. Still have same problem as before drove the truck 5 miles died very hard to start and wont stay running pulled codes 1693 and 0230. From what ive seen on this site the 1693 is telling me injector pump is shot not shure on the 0230, But if the vp is bad can any one out there give me the part number and were to get the latest upgraded vps thanks a lot. 1693 means a code is in ECM. That code is 230 which says lift pump circuit out of range. Let's see, New lift pump, plenty of pressure, Oh my goodness!! I'll put my money on a failing VP44. Surprise, Surprise.

My truck threw these codes with a few others and did the same thing Joes did re: running and then quiting. See "Down 4 the count in MT" thread below. So far a new ECM is on the way and then we'll see about the LP and VP.

ECM failure verses VP44. The ecm and pcm are bulletproof compared to the IP. The very fact you have codes is assurance that ECM is working.
