Clutch upgrade - are improved hydraulics really necessary?

Recently replaced the stock clutch with an SBC OFE. I did not replace the hydraulics - but they seem to be working fine. Clutch releases at the same point of travel as before, feel of the release seems strong, no leaks, etc.

So the question - replace something that seems to be working well? Will it "inevitably" fail after 10 or 20K miles, etc.? I tow on the highway and don't really want to get stuck six months from now. On the other hand, I don't make a habit of throwing away money, either.

I think you only need the upgrade if using a double disk. I've run an FE for 2 1/2 years with no problem, and knock on wood the last 4-6 months on a 3600 # plate load DD with no problem on stock hydraulics.
