Recently I have developed a weird situation. Truck drives fine, shifts fine, etc. When I come to a stop at a stoplight or stop sign I feel and hear a sort of "clunk" right before the truck stops. It seems as though it occurs right before the downshift back into 1st gear. All of my u-joints look ok. I removeed the driveshaft and greased the spline by the carrier bearing. All of my u joints are Spicers and trans was rebuilt at 145,000. Truck has 200,000 on the clock now. Any ideas what this clunk could be? T.I.A.

 

Truck is a 2002 3500 2wd auto

 

Try shifting the trans into neutral before stopping to be sure the torque converter is unlocking correctly.
