depends on which code it is...some will clear by disconnecting the batteries and some are hard codes that can only be cleared by a dealer

What about clearing the 0216 code? I want to clear it out
before it hurts my pump.

(yeah, it sounds stupid. I just don't want to admit to running
out of fuel the 2nd day I had it.)

Lowell, you might want to sit down....0216 isnt a code for out of fuel. 0216 is usually the death code for your injector pump. If you dont have a FP guage I would suggest checking the fuel pressure from the lift pump (it may be dead).

0216 is a hard code and needs the be cleared by the dealer. Codes will not hurt a pump. A hurt pump sets codes.

Hopefully someone didnt unload tyhe truck with known problems.

Good Luck.

Now if that aint some luck I dont know what is. Hopefully your didnt give much for it? If it is the Pump I think I would be at the dealership demanding satisfaction or let him know that most powerful form of advertising is word of mouth and you fully intend on running his good name through the mud.
