Most Auto Parts stores, not sure what major ones you have in your area, I know NAPA has them. But Peb Boys and the like would too i'm sure.

 

That's one big reason I went to the Superchip. It will also read codes when other power chips won't. That probably is no immediate help but think about it if you plan on bombing your rig in the future.

 

Ok I went out and bought a scan tool for $150 and ran a scan and found 0121, the apps is the issue. I tried to reset it yesterday but it didnt work. I did forget to set the park brake before I disconnected the batteries so I am doing the reset again now. I will post the results.

 

on my '01 if I turn the key off and on 3 times real quick, it will give the codes on the digital odometer.

 

The key on off truck only works on '00 and later trucks I believe.

Glad you found the culprit with the APPS that was what i was afraid of, but it's a whole lot better than a new injection pump. Clean all the connections real good. You may have to replace the sensor. But first try the reset and cleaning connections.

 

I did the reset for the apps and while I was waiting for the 30 min minimun with the batteries diconnected, I changed out the fuel filter. OMG the filter was completly full of nasty black sludge and goo. It looked like tar was mixed with the fuel. Got that cleaned and changed and the truck seem to have more get up and go.
Everything is working perfectly now.

Anywhere, OBDII scan tool. Sounds like the ECM is putting the motor into protective safe mode.
