Center driveshaft bearing 2001
Center driveshaft bearing 2001
I have the center bearing taken off the 01 Quad cab long bed. I have the spicer # off the center bearing 231212 is the number. I looked up the number online, and says that it is discontinued. I can not find anything that this bearing cross references to. Any one else have trouble finding a bearing for an 01?? Or does anyone know what bearing will cross reference this one.
are you talking about your rear carrier bar. www.rockauto.com is a source but I do like these folks not to bad on price but really good on beefy parts.
www.quad4x4.com you could check with napa and there napa chassis line of parts. they are good most are life time. just haven't seen there's to compare. good luck and that carrier needs to be pressed on. if you havents would be a good idea to do the u-joints while you have it in pieces. good luck. I have found the greasable napa chassis u-joints so far to be really good. I can grease them and the rubber seal on them are or seem to be a better design.
good luck

Mine had a Napa one in it when I bought it. After warming up the engine I have had problems with the axlewrap being violent enough to stuff the bearing out of the carrier. Wrapped wire around the bushing to prevent it from escaping, and with traction bars that kept it in, but I didn't like the funny handling from traction bars and took them off. This time it pushed the bushing completely apart.
I'm tempted to fab up a mount and fit in a pillow block bearing slip fit ID with a polyurethane spring to hold it in place. The idea would be that if the spring wrap stuffed the DS, the poly spring would compress rather than destroy the mount. I think I'll try an OEM first though.
