My buddies 01 is throwing the CEL and has almost no boost or power when he strats it up for the day. He said once it gets warmed up for a bit the CEL is still on but the truck will boost and the power is there. Any ideas?

He just put a brand new MAP sensor on it the other day. He does have an XTZ+ unit on it. I was thinking unplug the unti for starters and see if the CEL goes away. If not I suggested unplugging the batteries for a few hours and going that route to clear any codes..he is only getting a 1693 code(from the xzt+) i would assume. Any help would be great.

 

if 1693 is there you have to use a scanner to read the others, checker or auto zone will do it for free
