Cat Removal
If I were to remove the catalytic converter on my truck, would it mess with the backpressure bad enough to make the performance of the truck drop, or is removing it completely fine.

Your 99 shouldn't have a cat unless its a cali truck. Your truck should have a resonator and muffler on it. Take it off if you want to, you aren't going to hurt the engine by straight piping it. Your turbo already provides enough back pressure for the engine.
Unlike a NA platform, any ammount of backpressure is parasitic for a turbocharged application. If anything youll see a slight decrease in the ammount of time it takes to spool up (this is good).
