broken exhaust manifold

My exhaust manifold split right down the middle where the turbo mounts.
I was wondering if this is a common problem. Where is the best place to buy the replacement? New or used? Truck is an all stock 2000 3500 auto.
Thanks; jmack9288

Yes it does happen on these trucks. You can by a used one, thats what I did short on cash at the time, A new one from cummins that could more than likely crack, or buy an aftermarket one such as ATS its a 3 piece, there or several different aftermarket ones

Go with a 3 piece set up. Don't waste your money on a manifold that will crack again.
Fairly easy install, comes predrilled for a pryo. Helps lower EGT's also.

Go with the 3 piece ATS. I went through 2 stock ones before switching and have never had a problem since. Dave

When you replace that manifold, it's a good time to add a pre-turbo pyro, if you don't already have one.

it all depends on how long you plan on keeping your truck, if your mileage was more than 100k when it broke then go for another stock one... i have 161000 on mine ,,,,no cracks... but if it does crack tomorrow, i'll replace it w/stock & expect it to last at least 150000 miles
