Boost Valve Assembly?????

I lost lock-up in my truck to I pulled the valve body and found the boost valve parts in the bottom of the pan. Does anybody know how this goes back together?

There is a valve, plug(spacer), spring and then the retainer. What order do these go in? Thanks

The plug goes first then the valve, spring and retainer. Did the retainer break or did it come apart for some other reason?

Thanks for the response, that was going to be my guess. The tabs on the retainer bent. Should I bend them back or fabricate a new one? I want to put it back together tonight and nobody has one in town.

Also, just to be sure which way does the valve go in? Thick end first? (only way I know how to describe it)

I think I understand you and the thick end goes in first. The spring goes over the other end, I think. It's been a while since I have worked on one and I am looking at the picture in the manual. I think I would fab another retainer. I've heard of them doing that before and also breaking.

Good deal. That turned out cheap enough, didn't it?

They make a heavy duty retainer. Mine broke once as well. Get the upgraded version and it'll never happen again.
