Boost Boots / Reinforcement

I've noticed that my boost boots are getting pretty soft, and replacements are quite $pendy; Anybody ever try to repair / reinforce them with a high-temp duct tape? If so...where can said Miracle Tape be procured?

Yeah mine are needing replacing as the body is starting to cut into them. I was thinking of putting some of the door edge guards on the body right there to prevent this from happening again.

You might be able to use some of that aluminum tape for heater ducts. you can get it at Lowes or Home depot. But personally that I would replace.

Don't put anything on the inside! Replacement is the best option.

What about that exhaust repair tape, takes the heat, supposed to seal tight and becomes rigid when set.

I watched how an intercooler boot expands and contracts with boost in the range of 35-50psi.

Those hoses STRETCH lots with high boost. I doubt taping or using something that stops their ability to flex will work in your favor.

i have proof...i tried using 2 WHOLE rolls of electrical tape (it stretches) and put duct tape over it...put it back on...first time down the road it would expand and blew the clamp off. second time made the clamp tighter and it blew thru the tape where the small hole was...it was prolly 30 layers of elect. tape and 5 layers of duct tape. blew it into small strands and fragments like a bomb went off...i wish i had a pic of the tape or what was left
