Baldwin Fuel Filter

I just bought 2 pf7977 from grainger today, the filter media looks nothing like the fleetguards. It also looks nothing like the picture in the online cat, which looks just like the fleetguard white with little holes. the ones they gave me have yellow media, the inside has steel like the oil filters. Just wondering what it should look like since ive never bought one before.....thanks

Yep looks pretty clean and normal. I run Baldwin for both factory and the 2micron spin-on fuel filter and oil + the bypass setup. Oil stays pretty clean.

I emailed Purolator with my question about their part number for the CTD fuel filter, and I actually got a response:

"Thank you for your interest in our Purolator filtration products. The filter you have in mention has a 7 micron rating. All filters made by Purolator are the equivalent to the OE specifications."

Of course, they didn't state if it was 7 micron absolute or nominal, but 7 is better than 10--which, I believe is what the original Fleetgard part is rated for.

So who knows. I'm just amazed they emailed back.
