Where is your probe? Pan or line?

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Line will show higher temp than pan. Recomend pan location. Generally run less than 180. Pull hill/load in lower gear will go much higher. Try to max out at less than 240 degrees. Change fluid when starts turning brown.

I see about 150 doing 70mph with an empty truck.... My probe is on the lower right test port of the pan.

Or the block of the trans above the pan?

In the pan is better, hot line best IMO, on the block mount your getting residual heat from the fluid and heat from the casting not a true fluid temp, pan your getting a temp after it's been through the cooler, hot line your getting a temp after it's been in the converter with no cooling on it's way to the cooler.

150* sounds right for your location though.
