automatic getting harsher at start up
automatic getting harsher at start up
2001 Dodge automatic, 2wd, had a rebuilt transmission installed a little over 2 years ago, 28000 kms now. Lately when i put into drive from park its like it wants to jump ahead. When i get to a stop sign it feels like it wants to keep pushing me through the brakes. I pop it into neutral and engine revs a little than settles down to about 800 rpm. It shifts great on the highway.. Does this sound like there are plates hanging up? I have not changed oil since rebuild. any ideas would be great before i bring it back to dealer.
I did change the throttle poteniometer this winter and set it to the requested settings.

Maybe a fluid and filter swap might be a good idea on a rebuilt transmission after those miles breaking it in.
I try to swap out the fluid in my 5 speeds if they are rebuilt after minimal miles as the new parts wear in together quite a but at first. This leads to more metal shavings, ETC in the oil
Check the pan and filter for excessive metal or other shiny objects.

I called dealer today and he said it sounded like torque converter needed replacement. Could this be with so few miles on rebuild? I pulled my 5th wheel camper 3 times last year totalling about 2000 kms.
Brought truck to dealer for a transmission flush, and he set the bands, Transmission shifted good for a couple weeks now starting to wanting to stall at stop signs unless i put into neutral.
