Auto Trans Shifting

I have a 99, I guess it would be the 47re trans. I have had it about 5 years and put nearly 100,000mi on it. It has always shifted (loosely) you know, not a firm shift like normal but like it has play in it. Thought at first it was rearend play but had rearend completly redone. Still does it, so I was wondering if it is the trans or is it possibly a streached chain in the transfercase? With a load on it , hardly does it at all. Doesn't slip or anything, Fluid is exceptionally clean every time I change it. Any Suggestions?

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
Do a tranny service, adjust bands and let it travel. You can check gear train end play if you like. With tranny in park, you can probablly rotate the rear drive shaft a inch of rotating travel. I think this is what you are speaking of. When transfer chain streches enough you will know from the noise.

If the t-case chain had slack it would not affect the rear drivetrain. It only transfers power to the front axle side of the t-case, also like stated it will make alot of noise especially in 4wd. If you get a decent cluck when shifting from park/rev, rev/d etc Ir could be the trans mount too. Mine starting doing this and the metal tabs were broke right where the bolts go through. Also check slip yoke and u-joints too. 4wd's have more slack in the drivetrain due to more gears/parts in the drivetrain (t-case)
