Okay new question here, on the 98 24v 5spd my buddy just bought it has a decal on the core support that says authorized modification, the number listed is hand written and reads-333036300J- . anyone have a clue what this means?? thanks in advance

 

It may have had the ECM reflashed at the dealer, I know my friend's truck was done and they left a similar sticker on the rad support.

 

As stated above, means the ECM was reflashed to that version number. They are supposed to put a sticker on the rad support and the ECM itself, but generally they don't do the ECM. When I went to the Catcher ECM I pulled my sticker off the radiator support since it no longer applies. When mine was reflashed they wrote the TSB number instead of the ECM software number like that one.

 

Probably the cruise control reflash..

Can't be that since the ECM isn't touched in that one, the number listed above is an ECM software version number. Mine is 333030308J ...can be found using DRB III scan tool under ECM.
