Hello All- I Have A 99 24 Valve With An Automatic. I Wanted To Look Up What This Authorized Modification Label Under My Hood Was All About. The Sticker Says An Authorized Mod Had Been Made Under Tsb Authority. It Reads " Flash Update Pcm To P/n 56040199 Ad " I Was Just Curious What This Was All About. I Searched The Web And A Tsb Site Pertaining To Our Trucks But Came Up Empty Handed. The Mod Was Done 9/04. Any Info Would Be Appreciated. Thanks.

 

Your pcm has been reflashed by the dealer to the lastest software.

 

In some earlier software versions, the computer would limit the amount of engine power when the auto equipped trucks were in OD to prevent harm to the 47RE. People complained, and the updated the software. That may be part of the new software you received.

 

That software update covers tsbs 18-030-01, 18-25-99, and 21-04-00. It's for shift quality and durability improvents, erroneous engine miss when using DRBIII and erroneous governor pressure DTC.
