APPS or ECM or VP? Code 223 and 216
APPS or ECM or VP? Code 223 and 216
Well, I'm an idiot. My truck has always had the coming in and out of OD problem, so I decided to try the fix where you run a separate ground wire to pin 4 (APPS sensor ground). I guess I wasn't paying attention, but instead of grounding pin 4, I grounded pin 6 (idle validation switch #1)
I can't believe I did that.....
I didn't figure it out until after I started the truck and got the check engine light and codes P223 (idle validation signals both high) and P216 (fuel injection pump timing failure) and P1693. I hooked it back up correctly but still get codes P223 and P216.
At this point I'm thinking I fried either the APPS, the ECM or the VP. Any thoughts on what it is?
This is going to be an expensive screw up.
Thanks for any help.

Well, I disconnected both batteries all night. That should clear the codes right? Started it up this morning. All three codes are still in memory, however the Check Engine Light is no longer on.
Any idea what that means? It seems to be running OK. No dead pedal or anything.
Thanks for any help,
