APPS adjustment

I had a new APPS put on my '99 Cummins yesterday. The shop did the calibration and the engine so far has run without further power loss problems. I know from past observation that the APPS has a slotted mounting mounting hole on each end for adjustment. My question is this; How critical is positioning of the APPS within the limits of these slots? Can I make a difference in throttle response by tweeking the position?

I don't think you can. The calibration routine is handled by the computer to determine the pedal position. Move the APPS and you would have to recalibrate anyway which would nullify the move.

I changed mine a couple of weeks ago, and the best I remember, there were instructions not to mess with anything, that the calibration was done at the factory. Mine has ran great.......even better now that I've hooked up my new Edge box.
