Apps ???
my 01 HO is acting up and I was thinking it might be the APPS .when i push down on the go pedal it will move about 1" to 1 .25 " before the engine starts to rev. there are no codes but i have a MAD ECM. its like that all the time hot or cold seems to run ok ,just have to push it past that point.
Try the reset procedure....it's free.
Also, take the black cover off and make sure the linkage is not in a bind.
This procedure has shown to help 24 valve ISB engines. It is basically teaching the fly by wire accelerator on these trucks to reread the position of the pedal and it's limits. Most complaints this will help with is poor acceleration, improper shifting, bucking in 5 and 6 speeds. Has been known to increase fuel mileage in some instances.
1. Set parking brake
2. Disconnect negative battery cables on both batteries
3. Turn ignition key to run(to drain any remaining capacitors)
4. Let truck sit for 30 minutes( this is the recommended minimum)
5. Return ignition to OFF position
6. Reconnect both batteries and secure, not a timed event
7. Turn key to run position(not start) and depress accelerator pedal slowly all the way to the floor
8. Allow pedal to return to top position slowly
9. Turn ignition switch OFF
10.Release parking brake

Did you follow directions for the MAD ECM, and reset apps after installing it?
Either way....do it again. I have had poor luck with the 30 min minimum rule. Disconnect battery (neg) and leave key on for 2 hrs! I got much better results doing it this way!

Yes, do APPS reset either by disconnecting from battery for 2hrs minimum or overnight(seems to work better to drain capacitors completely).
What I would recommend though is to leave key ON throughout, disconnect positive battery cables for 1/2 hour, then reconnect with key still in the ON position(don't shut key off during this time).
Then reset APPS by pushing pedal slowly down all the way, then all the way back up slowly. This will reset the MAD ECM program, and clear previous APPS problem. My pedal with the SLIGHTEST movement INSTANTLY makes truck JUMP.
