I have reset my APPS before and it took care of my trouble for a short period of time, but now I'm back to square one. Before I go to Cummins and buy a new one is there any way I can tell for 100% mine is bad?
What is your truck doing? is it "Searching"?
If so, there is a fix for that. There is a wire from the ECM, through the PCM, and to the APPS that you need to cut and re-wire.
This will cure any "Searching" problems at around 45-48 mph (with OD in normal position)
Let me know if you need any more information on this... I did my truck and it shifts better than it ever has.

I have already gotten that re-wire project done this is my throttle jumping around. I re-reset my APPS and for now it has taken care of all my trouble. I guess I'm going to get a new APPS from cummins some time this week.
When did you do the re-wire?
Is there a chance that it was incomplete, incorrect, or came loose? (no disrespect...)
If it's not the "searching" problem, you may want to call Joel at ATS Diesel in Colorado, maybe he'll have the answer.
Maybe a dumb question, but is it under an extended warranty?
Pete out...
