Anyone know anything about a 55 block

I have a 01 w/a 55 block. I read stories here about the 53. Just curious. Thanks

55 Block is excellent. Strongest of the Brazillian engine blocks except for the 56, but light years better than the 53.
Good reading here...if interested.

Has to be there somewhere. Did you read the link? Mexican #'s are much smaller and very hard to read. If I remember there are a 6 or 7 digits.

Look directly under the injector pump (on the drivers side). Just above where the Oil Pan attaches... If I remember correctly.

thanks guys, if i can help let me know. i had a 99 with 33000 miles. these miles were mostly heavy hauling 8000-18000. im glad now the dealer did forget the coolant after a flush, which resulted in replacing it with the an 01 of choice in sept 2000. that 99 most likely had that 53 block.
