You buy the pto drive unit and then attach anything you want to it. There are a few units that direct marry to pto units, but they are usually just a standard size hydraulic pump.

A while back I went looking for an excuse to mount a pto on mine, and found a pto drive unit. They are sourced by the transmission or transfer case.

I'll see if I can't dig it up. Chelsea and Muncie are big names in the pto business.

http://www.munciepower.com/main/quick-reference/ check this out and punch in your transmission. PDF for a few options-different gear ratios for the pto. Once you have this component, you can hook it to nearly anything.

Space is an issue, though. One side has exhaust, the other a driveshaft. If you have a 241hd transfer case, you can mate to that, too.

The six bolt pattern is universal, but I don't think the gear pitch/depth is, so beware. I *think* you can often change out the gear to use a junkyard pto if that pto was a option on your transmission.

There is no NV4500 option.....unless I'm missing something.

Thanks Tate, I tried to figure out how to post that up, but still a bit cave man.

BTW that pdf shows the chart for a Chevy NV4500, but Muncie's link to it is from the Dodge link, so I'm guessing they are the same. Since there were smaller OTR tucks that ran the NV transmissions, theoretically a junkyard score might be possible... theoretically.

Early chev NV4500's were different than the dodge ones, with the deeper first gear and case differences. The later chev's (after whatever build date) is the same as the dodge's.
