i checked my codes today by cycling the key a couple times and it came up with the 1693 and then followed by an overboost code.

i have a boost guage and before when i had the guage installed i was only making 11psi, which is half of what holset says, which it should make 20-22psi stock. so i added a the BD Boost elbow and it worked raising the boost to 18psi.

so heres my trouble if at first i was only making 11psi and then up little more to 18psi and the max that the HX-35 can handle is 36psi before turning into shrapnel why am i getting the overboost code???? is my guage faulty or is there something more to the problem??

 

this may or not help but mine had been doin that for about the 8 mos and i just discovered that my vp-44 was goin south and defueling in the higher rpms,but it never tripped anything but overboost until last week when i got a code 216

 

are you sure you don't have a boost leak some where ?
