Anti-Slip Modifier Additive Getting Weak?

I changed my rear differential fluid about 2 years ago, and I added 6-8 OZ of the anti-slip differential modifier. Everything was fine until about 2-3 months ago when I noticed the differential would shutter going around tight corners under a load.

I changed the differential fluid again tonight and added 8 oz of modifier. Seems to work better right away doing figure 8's in the parking lot to mix it up.

Does the modifier wear out? Anyone else notice this?

.....I see it quite often. Lack of scheduled maintenance.

Changing the fluid sure took care of the problem. Learn something new everyday here.

I would think the additive would last longer than 50K miles. I don't tow that much so I stretch the changes.

Change that differetial fluid boys & girls!

I replaced the differential fluid in my truck 15k miles ago and put in 2 ozs. of the Mopar Limited Slip additive. Everything worked fine until about two weeks ago when the truck started to get a little chatter going around corners. It's really not that bad and I've read that a little chatter is not harmful. If it gets worse, I will add another oz. or so of additive.

I believe the 3rd generation trucks use the American Axel differential instead of the Dana which was used on first & second generation trucks. The anti-spin set-up is different between the two. I'm currently using a synthetic fluid which has the additive in it; however, additional additive may be required depending on how "tight" or loose" the clutch packs are in the differential. I believe that's correct. I don't think the American Axel differential uses clutch packs.
