This is a follow-up to my prior transmission questions. How do I know if my TC is locked when the trans shifts up from 1st to 2nd and then 2nd to 3rd. I'm trying to understand why the shifts are sometimes so much more harsh than others under the same conditions.

 

The torque converter only locks up in O/D in your truck. If you push the button and turn O/D off, nothing locks up. You'll know when it does as the tach will drop off after the shift into 4th.

It's a 2001.5 per my signature. So my shift is 1 2 3 OD TC right?
