Have read through a ton of the trans post on here & none that I've found seem to describe what mine is doing. It won't shift out of first unless you wind it to around 2500 & let off the go pedal, even then sometimes it requires some playing with to get it to shift. Other than that trans shifts & works as suppose to. Scanned for codes with smarty,just the 1693 is all that comes up. Reset the APPS. Cleaned every ground I can find, alt wire is wrapped, plus have had the DTT noise filter on since trans was built 42k ago. Also replaced speed sensor. I'm curious if this is a solenoid issue or something screwy with the valve body. Don't really have the time to spend a day taking it all the way to my trans guy "2 and half hours away" & also leary of letting some trans shop closer to home take a look at it, due to it not being a stock trans.

 

Have you serviced the tranny since built??? has the KD(2nd) band been adjusted?? If these have been done, you can order the governor pressure solenoid. It's easy enough to put in. Just drop pan and have a lookee see. I recomend the real dealer item. Aftermarket are not always the latest and greatest part.

 

Trans was serviced around 7k miles ago with fluid changed to Amsoil, then my builder went back in it maybe 500 miles later to replace the clip that allows the converter to lock up in od. "forget what the clip is called" but here's a pic of it. Bands were adjusted as well. He did adjust to make the first/second shift a little softer, is it possible that adjustment is the cause of my present prob? He said over the phone that's not it & is probly the TV valve, that sound right?
