Another question about the Puke Bottle

OK so my puke bottle fell off not sure why but my truck marks it territory with oil way more than I 'd like so i taped a container onto the hose. my question is when i started the truck it expanded like a balloon, so I poked a hole into the top of it,

My question is is this normal to have so much pressure when runing or do you guys think maybe I have issues with my rings? any help would be appreciated

I have heard that the vacuum pump can cause excessive psi in the crank when the seals are going bad

my vaccum pump seals are leaking, but nothing horrible. i check it regularly, but ive heard other than oil on the parts in the area of it, and some minor drops on the ground, it shouldnt bother anything. theres a vaccum pump seal replacement kit for like $60bucks you can get from genos garage. on another note, i took off my puke bottle, and ran a hose from the nipple down the side of the valve cover and back beside the transfer case. i also took out the radiator and blew all the gunk buildup out of the fins as well.

That is incorrect. The seals in the vacuum pump will not increase the vapors coming from the road draft tube. The fact is that if there is a vacuum leak anywhere in the system, (like a leaking vacuum hose) the vacuum pump will suck air in and pressurize the crankcase. This will cause excessive venting from the road draft tube, which may be somewhat oily. If I had excessive emissions from the road draft tube, the first thing I would check would be low system vacuum, which would indicate a vacuum leak. The vacuum pump itself is not generally the culprit here.

Also, some pressure at the tube is normal, and if there is a container attached to the end, there must be enough ventilation left to let the pressure escape. The only purpose of the container is to catch the liquid drips before they hit the ground or splash on the undercarriage.

sound about right I will check for vacuum leaks but I did poke a bigger hole in my new container and it isn't smoking now which was a bigger concerni because when it was pressurized it smoked grey on accelleration, now with a bigger vent hole it doesn't
